Windows Bit locker it is the one of the best security form Microsoft windows with data encryption.When we enable bit locker settings no one can steal data from your hard drive.This setting comes with windows 10 pro version. Sometime HP or dell company gives this setting with new laptop even they have installed windows 10 home single language.
How To Enable Bit locker:
- If you have windows 10 pro then you can search in start bar data encryption or open file explorer and right and right click on your data drive
- Click to Turn On Bit Locker
- Create Password to secure your drive data. and click on next.
- Here you can see the lot of option to save your recovery key of bit locker this is the most important key that you have to save on your Microsoft account or your can save in your pen drive. Then Click on next.
- Select the encryption mode and click on next.
- Click on start encryption.
- When you encrypt the partition you can see your drive have a lock icon in it that means your drive is now encrypted.
How To Turn Off Bit locker:
- Right click on data partition & select manage Bit Locker.
- After select the manage Bit Locker option you can see the multiple options to manage your Bit Locker you can remove it of if you lost your recovery key then you can backup that key very easily.
Note: When you format your laptop or desktop operating system make sure you have your recovery key of Bit Locker, because if you format the system without backup your Bit Locker key then no any other option to get your recovery key and you lose your completely data form that partition. So better you can store your recovery key on Microsoft account when you format your laptop or desktop you can easily access your key after login Microsoft account.
